Please refer to the listing below for information and electronic versions of bid documents for current projects being bid by the Architectural or Engineering Divisions of the City of Birmingham.
For all City projects, the Contract Work shall include all labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete all work as described within the bid documents. The bid documents include all drawings, specifications, and addenda issued prior to the bid date.Drawings and specifications are complimentary. Divisions and sections are arranged according to materials and functions and are not intended to be "trade" sections. The specifications establish construction and material standards as well as techniques and do not necessarily cover all specific items of materials shown on the drawings. Bidders shall examine the premises and satisfy themselves as to the existing conditions under which they will be obliged to operate in performing their work under the contract.No allowance will be made subsequently in this connection in behalf of the successful bidder for any error or negligence on his part.
Bid documents are opened to public inspection at the Department of Planning, Engineering and Permits- , Room 220 City Hall, 710 20th Street, North Birmingham, AL 35203 and at the Plan Room of McGraw-Hill Construction Dodge, 3535 Grandview Parkway, Suite 225 Birmingham, AL 35222; at AGC/iSQFT Plan Room, 2801 5th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35233; at The Birmingham Construction Industry Authority, 3600 Fourth Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35222; and at the Reed Construction Data Office, 30 Technology Parkway South, Suite 500, Norcross, GA. 30092.
Bid documents may be purchased from Alabama Graphics or Imaging Technologies in Birmingham, AL. Any cost for reproduction shall be the responsibility of bidders.
Contractor Pre-qualification for Remediation and Limited Stabilization of the Ramsay-McCormack Building
Prior to requesting and receiving sealed bids for the Remediation and Limited Stabilization of the Ramsay-McCormack Building, the City of Birmingham, through its Architect, ArchitectureWorks LLP, wishes to identify and pre-qualify bidders to perform the contemplated work consistent with the public works laws of the State of Alabama (Title 39, Code of Alabama).Only pre-qualified General Contractors will be invited or allowed to submit a bid on this Project.
Third Court South - Storm Improvements Project REBID
Approximately 50 LF of storm sewer extension and ditch rehabilitation in alley between 3rd Court South and 3rd Avenue South in Woodlawn Heights. Work includes replacement of approximately 120 LF of 8" sanitary sewer pipe in accordance to Jefferson County Environmental Services standards. (Project rebid due to irregularities in the previous bid)
