Missing Person Update

The Birmingham Police Department reports that skeletal remains found have been identified as a reported missing person.  On Monday, February 13, 2012, West Precinct officers responded to the Jefferson County Wastewater Treatment Facility on Pleasant Hill Road to investigate a report of found skeletal remains.  Due to the condition of the remains, an identification examination was performed by the Jefferson County Coroner’s office.

The victim has been identified as: Raymond Cochran, 71, of Birmingham, Alabama.

Cochran is described as:  B/M, 6’3” tall, 192 lbs, brown eyes, and grey hair.  He was wearing blue Dickey pants, a white and grey shirt, a black hat and glasses when he was reported missing.

Cochran was last seen on Thursday, June 17, 2010.  Cochran walked away from the 1600 block of 19th Street in Ensley.  Cochran was reported to suffer from dementia.

The investigation is still ongoing and no cause of death has been determined.
