Robbery Investigation Arrest
The Birmingham Police Department reports that detectives have arrested and charged a suspect in connection with two robbery investigations. The first investigation began on
September 23, 2013 when North Precinct officers responded to investigate a robbery of the McDonald’s restaurant located at 3013 12th Avenue North. The suspect managed to
escape the location prior to officers’ arrival.
On Saturday, September 28, 2013, North Precinct officers responded to a robbery of the McDonald’s restaurant located at 1700 Finley Boulevard.
Officers responding to the scene were able to apprehend the suspect before he could leave the scene.
After further investigation, BPD Robbery detectives were able to determine that the captured suspect was also involved in the September 23rd McDonald’s Robbery at
3013 12th Avenue North. The suspect was armed with a gun during both robberies. Investigators also found that the suspect was released on parole in
February 2012 for Robbery 1st degree.
The suspect has been identified as: Christopher Ramon Gunns, B/M, 33, of Hueytown, Alabama. Four Robbery warrants have been obtained against the suspect.
The suspect is in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail.
