Trafficking Identity Investigation Arrests

The Birmingham Police Department reports that two suspects have been arrested and charged in connection with a burglary investigation.

The Birmingham Police Department reports that two suspects have been arrested and charged in connection with a trafficking identity investigation. The arrests occurred at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2013, in the 1100 block of 31st Street North.

Officers from the North Precinct stopped the suspects’ vehicle at the arrest location for a traffic violation. After approaching the vehicle, officers took both subjects into custody after observing a handgun on the car seat. Upon taking the suspects into custody officers observed a large amount of documents containing multiple identities. The documents ranged from social security cards, car titles, WIC vouchers, passports, blank pre-notarized Department of Motor Vehicle Power of Attorney forms, car tags and car tag receipts. BPD Major Fraud detectives arrived to investigate the findings.

The first suspect has been identified as: Carlos Quesada Aguero, W/M, 38, of Birmingham, Alabama. A Trafficking Identity warrant with a $100,000.00 bond has been obtained against the suspect.

The second suspect has been identified as: Filemon Ochoa, W/M, 46, of Birmingham, Alabama. A Trafficking Identity warrant with a $100,000.00 bond has been obtained against the suspect.

The suspects are in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail.
